Diogo Carvalho, an internationally recognized composer and guitarist, performs a concert dedicated to contemporary music for guitar, featuring microtonal and guitar+tape compositions. Carvalho performs his compositions and pieces by, among others, Manfred Stahnke, Paul Richards, Michael Polo, Robert Seaback, Navid Bargrizan, and Treya Nash.

           

Works selected for this concert have one trait in common, as Carvalho explains: “They reveal hidden and new sounds through new musical ideas. Currently, my main interest is moving beyond deconstructing guitar’s common sound structures; I want to distill new and hidden sounds from the guitar.”
